Well,we cant have thousands of zombies runnin on screen because of performance issues,so the player has a health system,he has to watch his back.This way it is not needed to have hundreds of zombies.

Create bullet casing animations and have em spawn when you fire the gun bro. Only takes a couple of minutes per gun and will make the game look a lot better real fast.
