I climbed with Simon a couple of times in '89 when I was 17. One day at the Chee Dale car park I spotted a trophy buried under a pile of gear, dirt and biscuit crumbs. "What's this? " I asked, "Oh , it's the trophy they gave me when I won the climbing world cup".
Not false modesty, just zero bullshit.
Needless to say I was in awe and shook like a shitting dog while trying to climb an E3 half an hour later.

In my climbing days I always used to leave my kit at the bottom of this climb when I went to Froggat. No one ever asked me to move it :)
