This is the west entrance and churchyard of Saint Paul's Chapel, Manhattan, NYC. The Bell Of Hope was given to Saint Paul's by the lord mayor of London, on the first anniversary of The Attacks of the World Trade Center. It was cast at Whitechapel, the same London foundry that produced the Liberty Bell and Big Ben.
Mounted under the bell is a plan showing the layout of the original Woarld Trade Center. In the video, I point out the relationship between the two towers and thespherical sculpture, representing global trade, now on display down at Battery Park.
Trees in the churchyard mitigated the blast, so that the chapel was virtually the only undamaged building in the attack zone.
Lest you think this was a miracle, remember the late, great Saint Nicholas Church on Liberty Street, which was totally obliterated.
