Demo of the Marshall 3203 head with an AVT412 cab. I had a new Mercury Magnetics power transformer put in to fix the head. It cost $250, but was well worth it. The amp has a solid state pre-amp and EL34 tubes in the power section. Also a 12AX7 power inverter tube. The amp has an effects loop, line out, eq, clean and boost channels, spring reverb, and channel and reverb are foot-switchable. It can be switched to 4 or 8 ohms output, depending on your speaker configuration.

  • hey guys i might trade my drumset for one of these amp heads i see from your demo it sounds awesome but the only thing im concerned about is i have a b52 480 watt 4x12 straight cab and i was wondering if that head is gonna be able to scream out of this cab or if it is gonna be too weak to lift it up because i gig and rehearse often hope someone can answer my question thanks

  • What is the ohm rating on the b52 cab? As long and you match it to the head setting you will be fine. The 3203 will drive the cab, no problem. You will have no problem keeping up with your drummer.

  • i liked the dokken riff @ 2:10 ... havent heard that in about 15 years.

  • Mr. Scary. That song always made me want to drive fast or fight someone.

  • can you get the maiden tone out of that amp?

  • Probably with hot enough/active pick ups.

  • What's the changing with the mercury power transformers?

  • 3:23 sultans of swing!

  • Great demo thanks! I bought the matching cabs used at a great price in 1987 or so didn't know a bout the head, now thinking of picking one up for a nice reunion :)

  • i have the 3203 and am looking at buying the 412 cab. sounds pretty good so i reckon ill buy one.

  • I've had both the 3203 and 4203. They rock, but I remember when I toasted the transformer it took forever.

Keep your eye out for the cab that goes with it.

and the 30 is perfect for a gig, because you can have it pegged.

  • these arent bad little amps.ive noticed they are trying to jack the prices way up for used ones. dont sucker to it. they arent that good. That MECURY transformer you put in it makes it sound a lot better. the stock tranformers are cheap little hammond/korg things. Ive owned 3 of these over the years, it was my first amp back when i started playing. they were about 200 bucks brand spanking new.

  • just bought an avt412 cab off ebay for £50, connecting it up later tonight to my rare marshall 8200 head :D

  • Every Marshall tube amp except the haze is gig able as far as my understanding.

  • how you switch the ohms?

  • Im about to buy one of these could someone please tell me if i can get a good slash tone out of it!!!
