  • thanks for the update, good to hear things are moving along well, and as a bonus, the shirt is epic !

  • Christian, you've got to get somebody to help you with making money. You frankly seem very intelligent and pleasant -- I bet you could write a good book. Get somebody with their head around money. Sell your book! You frankly, by your own admission, I guess, don't seem to have a handle on money or the worth of your efforts -- You might be better than you think. You've got the knowledge and the ability. Get someone to help you with business and publishing. Get someone to help get what you love pay

  • Have you tried following Geoff Lawtons, permaculture plan or Bill Mollison. I'll send the video to you so as to not clog up Christians space. Believe it or not our last drought here lasted 5 years, we recorded only 1.5 inches of rainfall from May to September & temperatures reached 41 C & -48 in winter with almost no snow. You can find their videos at Permascience here on tube. Look at the playlist: Permaculture in action.

  • We have very little water here, so it is hard to grow melons this far south without using loads of tank or bore water, which most people don't have access to. It has very little to do with the temperature.

  • Love the shirt! :)

  • Christian I can't beleve you haven't grown watermelons long ago. Gosh sakes you need to make a trip to Tossdart land & actually feel cold. You live in Australia! Some people in Canada call Yellowknife down south lol & never see below the 60th. The most I can ever hope is 90 days of growing here. I direct sow almost everything, chard, beets, turnips, beans, carrots, broccoli, califlower, salad, cucumber, spinach this season we finally got corn & squash. I plant tomatoes, peppers, inside.

  • Christian, can't wait for the books, and website. Lovely to hear from you again. You look happy, and it's good to see. We're all cheering for you to have great success in your garden, and with your books, & website.

  • Gosh, Christian, you're looking fine! lol nice haircut..shirt..where u goin? lol ..Dont worry about the farm, it will all work out..curious about your book..will be cool to see your website...today I put in some more beds..one concrete blk one..decided that is cheaper, more permanent than wood..dont have to nail/screw anything..just stack blks..gonna fill them w/fall leaves/compost..winter coming soon here..& ur getting ur spring..im jealous! Take care, Happy Gardening!...Angie

  • Christian, I had to laugh when you said, "what am I going to write about"! You've never been at a loss for words, my friend. In fact, your book will probably be so long you'll have to call it "War and Peas"

  • Hi Christian, Just remember large fruited vines need extra water and nutrients. Melons, in general, should be sown in a rich planting medium, with a deep hole filled with rotted manure, peat moss for water retention, soil adjusted to around neutral or, slightly alkaline pH, and watered well all thru their long life. Also provide a barrier to nocturnal critters. Will be looking forward to your book. Thanks for the vlogs.

    Cheers,

    Joe in Pennsylvania

  • great shirt...very gardeny. :)
