@HersheyD55 arguably the "screeching" singing of people like Ethel Merman or Sophie Tucker is as much (if not more) apart of the history of broadway than more classical singing.

Is it only in this scene that the staging is 100% identical to the Broadway production a few years ago?

Wonderf--oops-WUNDERBAR! I attended Cabrillo in the mid-70's and worked on a few productions then.
Their standard for excellence has not diminished!
