http://www.1we.com As the father of the microcredit system and Founder of the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. To date Muhammad Yunus has lent over 6.5 billion dollars to 7.5 million people in Bangladesh alone. With his well known twinkling eyes he speaks outspokenly about his fight against poverty. Poverty was not created by the poor. There is nothing wrong with these people. They are just as capable and inventive and have as much potential as others. The system simply never gave them a chance to grow. If you really want to solve poverty you should enable people to take matters into their own hands. His mission even takes place in the United States where the Bengali bank established an office in the beginning of 2008.

  • its about time someone well qualified as he is introduced these ideas and implemented them in a realistic and remarkably efficient way.

  • I do like the fact that he stated he met with Bill Clinton (when he was a Governor) in Arkansas and they have started this process of creating a world without poverty theory!

  • Dr. Yunus is one of my heroes! The impact on women has been phenomenal and I am so glad he is doing what he does. It inspires me!

  • dr.yunus tells that there is one Danone company which prepares yogurt containing micro nutrients for malnutritioned children in bangladesh and provides it at cheapest rates so that they become healthy.

  • dr. yunus tells that how he started grameen bank. he asked banks in bangladesh to lend money to the poorest ppl but they refused as ppl werenot considered credit worthy. so he started grameen bank and persuaded poor ppl especially women to borrow money so that they could start their own self employment business frm home or anywhere.

  • dr. yunus says that the purpose of the grameen bank and danone company is not profit maximization but to do good to the human beings.
