I have the same problem, i have not found info about it. I restore iphone 7 month ago in other city (cd del carmen)and ios 4.3, now, i have restore as new with the new ios 5.0.1 and that city still apearing

Extra info; I had this problem on my iPhone 3G and also on my iPhone 4

Same here, it looks like the are saved with à unique id, but the weatherserver is unstable.
Some places are fully disapeared, like Masullas ( Oristano, Sardegna ) and Leinì (Piemonte) changes.
In iPhone OS4.1 still not solved.

@bietebouwer i have it to on my iphone 4 i want it to say kortrijk but it keep going back to some place called halluin

Same here (Belgium), and there are many people suffering from it. The location randomly changes to a neighbouring village, and sometimes returns to its original name ... Confusing!
