this is an incredible structure. Honestly, 818 meters, nearly a full kilometer straight up. This will not be the only one of its kind, either. In the next few decades, we can expect not only buildings all across the world to match this one, but also structures that will surpass it.
I still look forward to the japanese sky city idea.
I think you underestimate the rate of humanity's progress. I sincerely doubt it will take that long. Hell, the WTC buildings were the tallest in the world for a while, and they were both built AND destroyed in my lifetime.
I expect another building to surpass this one within a decade or two of its completion, as this tends to be the trend.
Now the sky city, I dont actually expect to see that built. It's a neat idea, but it would require far too much material.
