Sarah Flowers travels to Riverside, California to uncover why so many medical marijuana patients are against proposition 19 which will be on the California ballot in November. Letitia Pepper has been an attorney for about 30 years and worked as a legal analist for the courts and worked for Best Best & Krieger. Lititia's experience gives her insight into the basic, unemotional law and how it will be interpreted by the courts, not to mention the individual cities in California. This is part 2 of a 2 part series.

  • I'm all for prop 19, but this lady is so full of shit. Does not know what she's talking about AT ALL.

Also, I just finished reading prop 19 from beginning to end... it doesn't say ANYTHING about charging taxes for growing marijuana on their own property. It leaves it open for any taxes to be added as a separate thing. It would require a separate proposition all-together for what she's talking about to actually happen

  • @nethackpro This lady knows more then most people. The proposition gives the power to tax and regulate to the cities. The cities can impose any tax or fee they want and at whatever rate they want. Another proposition isn't needed since this one does it all. If you happen to live in an unfrindly city you will get screwed if prop 19 passes.

  • Prop 215 works so well huh

The ex-manager of a medical marijuana dispensary in San Diego has been convicted of drug crimes and faces up to six years in state prison.

The judge ruled that Jackson couldn't use the state's medical marijuana law as a defense.Jackson will be sentenced next month. Outside court, he told reporters he'll appeal and feels pity and anger at prosecutors for pursuing criminal charges against medical marijuana defendants.

  • Bonnie Dumanis’ little fishing expeditions will be OVER when Prop 19 passes! No local law enforcement agency or officer can even attempt to seize lawful marijuana, much less go undercover to get a Prop 215 recommendation in order to buy a quarter ounce (for $130?!?) to set up a dispensary owner.

  • Wish I had seen this before I voted. To all the naysayers, this lady obviously knows what she is talking about and also suffers from a debilitating medical condition. She has no reason to mislead people and an interest in making sure an unjust proposition doesn't become law (as it didn't). I actually can't believe what the city of Oakland has allowed Richard Lee and his cronies to get away with in already essentially monopolizing the MM industry. Oakland is selling out for a few tax dollars.

Well, regardless of who's right... they can have fun figuring out every individual who is growing pot and charging them appropriate taxes for it. Seeing as how they can't even figure out who grows it illegally right now... As far as sales tax goes... whatever... its about convenience at that point so you expect to pay a little extra.

  • yes on 19

  • @kfiliotis Yes, unfortunately, they are truly convinced that richard lee is cornering the market? NO ONE corners the marijuana market, we've made that clear with the drug war... All this will do is get law enforcement off of everyone's back altogether on the issue of pot. It doesn't affect 215 AT ALL.

  • @HolisticPlantHealth Its very true that MJ has amazing medical benefits. People will still be able to get perscriptions and take advantage of the prop215 even if prop19 passes
