so have u taken the magnets out completely , i did wonder about doing so to mine , i have the ceramics in with a tiny drop of yellow oil as i have been told its better to have some lube if fishing

That reel has metal bearings, and the mag is still in.. I'll be posting some videos soon of some new projects.

Yes. I have one 1/4 mag on my homemade knobby and left 2 original maggs in the center on the slidy. Can the ceramic bearings be cast dry? I have ABEC 7's in ceramic and ABEC 5's in stainless as a back up. The lube I'm using is Yellow Rocket fuel.

Ok,.. Well first off you won't get your best spin time unless you back the mags off. I know people that run there ceramics dry during casting. I have only stock bearings in my reels right now... If you really want your best spin time clean the bearings, and install them back in dry.. You will also need to either take your mags out of back them off as much as possible..

Then see how it goes.. Just be warned your reel will not be set up for casting... WAY too FAST.. you willl have to put your oil back in to get it under control

Ok I magged my reel. Abec 7 ceramic bearings now what? I can only get about 55 sec. spin time. Going to the field today and cast. Sunday I cast well over 500 ft.

remember that my video's that show spin time are with reels with dry bearings. With lubed bearings im probably only getting 90 secs.. Is your reel magged?

nice, i have a abu elite that i have slighly modded and i recon i could out spin you on that. i dont do distance casting tournament tyle, i apply it on the beach. il put up a vid if you want

Will do. Thanks for your help. My buddies are throwing converted 6500CT reels with QTC frames etc. They are in the 700 plus foot range. Their rods are Breakaway HDx-T. I use a original Custom 2/1 pc Allstar Breakaway Rod. Line is .325mm 15.5 lb. I will be switching to .28mm 8lb. line for tournament casting. Very little vibration in the spin also. I have been very careful putting the line on. Thanks for all your help.
