  • Great memories of this song being involved in my life in 1976. Long time boyfriend and I were on the verge of breakup and this song just hit me. As it turned out, I shared it with him - made up - and now have been married 32 years. Awesome!

  • Hello.

Please, someone better informed could tell me: Who was the composer and first performer of this song?

  • @8406free Now why does that story sound so familiar. Thanks for sharing, the beauty of classic songs and the memories to go with it!

  • can't imagine somebody not liking this version...they must be on crack to dislike this..get ya head out ya ass!!!

  • Holy smoke, TEDDY CAN GET THOSE CLOTHES OFF WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS

  • @bruniquel You don't make this version any better by shoveling crap on the other one. But what I said is simply that the version of Houston has got that bass line which is one of the best ever in pop history and which is justly mixed up upfront as it doesn't happen with the one by Melvin where I can hardly hear it. But for the rest this version is better than that, I agree. Easily.

  • @greatbighand You can't really compare Houston plastic shitpop with this. come on!

  • Fav <3

  • "the exquisite longing of beautifully insatisfied desire" - Rilke. Cissy Drinkard Houston W(Whiitney's mom) and her sister Ruth Warwick (Dionne's mom) are/were musical directors at New Hope Baptist in Newark NJ. This Jewish boy from Trenton found himself knowing a lot more about himself from going there. Aches, hungers, soothes and exalts. I guess you can go higher or deeper and end up in the same place..

  • Love it
