  • OK... enough. I love what Mindi does, and love what Candy does.

This was from the Jerry Lewis telethon. It was for a great cause, and Mindi did a mainstream song of hers that would work. for the huge audience. We all know that she was Berklee trained.

This showed that you can have fun and put on a good show without trying to impress a bunch of music majors... or Prince fans.

  • Did anyone notice her choke on a note around 2:30 into it? I've seen her live here in TAmpa/St. Pete/Clearwater, FL., where she's from. She may be 'hot' but Candy Dulfer is much more attractive, classy, and a much better player. However, just because you're hot, have connections, doesn't mean you can get to this level, commercially, without being a decent player......but she's really losing her tone in her palm key notes....sad.

  • For what it is worth, this was at aprox. 2 AM and for a national TV audience that had millions watching even at that hour. Unlike a concert, there is no "getting the flow going." In addition, she went on about 30 minutes before originally scheduled (meaning she possibly didn't have planned warm-up time).

  • hey look!!!! our jazz records sale is falling because people aren't interest in music anymore and they pay attention to image way more so we have to come up with a new plan ummmm how about a hot blonde jazz version of britney??? That might just do the job yea!!!!

    Satan C**K sucker.......

  • Seeing the success of Mindi, Candy, and Jessy J is a nice shot in the arm for contemporary jazz. Yes... the genre doesn't exactly allow them to show their chops. But, all are life-long musicians (as oppossed to pop star who can't even sing on key without audio FX). Plus, all three of the ladies have stepped outside of the "elevator music" sound and making CD's worth repeated listens. Their looks are a (welcome) bonus in my book.

  • There are so many negative comments about Mindi but not about Candy Dulfer or Jessy J. Hmmm...

  • @mitchasics thats just the way she articulated it. if you listen to all of the other staccato high tones, its pretty much a super short version of them.

  • Can some idiot like me have a conversation with the likes of a brillrant person like yourself. Even I can't spell that well?

  • man she is just pure hottnes!

  • sta steamy

  • @Budafinga , I agree 100 % !

  • I love it.! I'm glad to see it's not only guitar players ripping each other apart! i have just discovered Mindi, ( from her performance on Idol ) i think she is doing a great job on the music i have heard here on youtube. i do not play sax so all of the technical stuff about chocking notes, palm notes or whatever, it sounds great to me!

  • Straight talent

  • @mitchasics I've noticed Mindi choke on a lot of notes. She is no Jessy J or Candy Dulfer. They are truly talented. I don't know why people compare her to Eric Darius or other great sax players. Mindi is NOT a good sax player. Her pitch is off. Mindi is ruining the smooth jazz genre.
