Remember stevie!!Don´t forget him! He must have been something special that man.Gone thrue hell and back again and still have the joy and happines to the music. My kids now who he was and they are 2 and 5 years old. Its important to me to pass the memory of Stevie furter on to new generations. Maybe just maybe they pick it up and love the music. When my kids hear a guitar on radio they ask if that was Stevie. When i hear that a big smile comes up on my face and i feel a little bit happy!!

Can I just say one thing about the Jimmy vs Stevie thing? If you put them together to play both in there prime Stevie would have to slow it down for Jimmy. Also about Jimmy was pretty sloppy not real polished. Its like when a father teaches his kid something and then the kid grows past him and becomes better... it is just the way it is.

@seganone I was referring to Jimmie Vaughan...Stevies brother...not Jimi Hendrix...the Hendrix thing is a totally different convo...

@Funkensteinlives i dont think one is better than the other. jimmie will make love to ya and stevie will hold ya down. two dffernt people, brothers. stevie may have made little wing his but that dont make him any better than hendrix. check out snooks eaglin.

@sinprelic ...oh yeah I agree 100%..I didn't mean to hate on Jimmie...he had his own style and is great in his own right..what i was gettin' at, is that even though Stevie was a technically better guitarist, he was initially influenced by Jimmie..and if not for Jimmie, Stevie may have never picked up a guitar. IMO, we have Jimmie Vaughan to thank for the guitar wonder that was Stevie Ray. Sorry if I sounded like I was puttin Jimmie down...I ddn't mean that at all.

@Funkensteinlives i also think so, but there is no use saying that. music is not only skill but it is also inspiration and creativity, and stevie ray took a huge chunk of his passion from jimmie. stevie could play better, but that doesnt make jimmie any less worth, or vice versa. go go vaughans!

@sinprelic I personally think that Stevie Ray was a better guitarist then Jimmie by leaps and bounds. However, Stevie always credited Jimmie as being such a great player that greately influenced him. Stevie seemed to be such a humble kind of guy. Jimmie definately has his place and if not for him, we may never have heard Stevie.

The fact that Stevie busted out during the 80's when techno, synth bullshit was dominating the masses of ass's, shows how great he was as an artist, great tunes and playing...if he was out earlier he would have burned down most of the great guitarist's houses to the ground, the greatest blues/rock guitar player that has yet to grace the earth, period.
Miss ya Stevie Ray
;) i feel the love in here!
