what if the object ball is like on the other end of the table and u must hit it from the opposite rail?

I like your use of the imaginary ball against the rail. It makes visualizing the position of the imaginary target ball much easier. Thanks!

Thanks. I hope it does help. Be careful with the English you apply. Small changes in the tip contact point on the CB can have big effects on the rebound angle.

Thanks Dr. Dave. You just helped me to understand I had a wrong theory before. I always thought the imagination ball should be mirrored from the cushion,now I realize it's half ball to the cushion.

This is the method to get the true angle-in-equals-angle-out aim. However, this won't work at all speeds, distances, and angles. For example, for a slow-rolling cue ball, mirroring through the diamonds (instead of across from the diamonds) will get you closer to the right aim.
