@travincal1 Because most of them, like Michael Jackson, influence us in more ways than you realize. Kinda like if your best friend was a junky and died you'd see past that as well and remember them for the good they did and the good times you had.

@travincal1 much better then anyone else. He touched people personally whether it was just through his music or not. People feel close to artists. It hurts when someone you feel close to dies. It doesn't matter if you were best friends with the person or barely knew them. If you FEEL close to them it hurts. Who are you to shit all over peoples feelings just because you don't feel them as well.

@travincal1 Actually no. I'm not talking about me. But for some people music is all they have. I never said he was not a junkie so you can check yourself there. If a junkie on the street touched thousands of lives the way that MJ did then someone would notice that person in some way or another. So clearly he didn't touch many people. He created great music. Not good. Good music wouldn't have made him famous world wide. Unless you weep for every obituary in the Sunday paper you're not

Your obviously confused and just because someone creates good music doesn't mean they aren't a junky. How do you know the junky on the road didn't touch thousands of lives. He just didn't do it with music maybe but personally.

@travincal1 Because he is a music icon. His music touched the lives of millions of people. His music paved the way for many more musicians. Music is one of the most powerful tools in the world. He gave thousands of people a reason to live. Normal "Junkies" don't do that. He did. He wasn't perfect but that doesn't mean you can diminish his name like that. Have some respect for the dead.

Who cares.....He was a junky. If he was just a regular guy no one would have said anything except "junky dies". Why are celebrities held to such low standards and forgiven for anything they do?
