  • Flats is like a different country coming from west holyoke lmao

  • Holyoke is a great city with great buildings. i live in Chicopee but frequent holyoke and love to look at the old buildings, they are so beautiful and should be saved. i wish i could afford 1 but it seems the owners think they are worth a lot. i think they should fix them. have a great day!

  • Shareholders rule above all now. Money is the only value to being human in the minds of many and society is declining as a result.

Communities fall into a spiral of collapse and hope dwindles. Hope is what is needed and a sense of working towards a better world. Whatever happened to that? Now it's just the individual. That's not enough to make human beings create and hope for great things.

The beautiful buildings created all those years ago are testament to that spirit - now gone.

  • Holyoke was known as being a beautiful city back in it's day. People came from all over to visit. It's sad to see how it turned out over the years. I grew up on Olive Ave, back in the early 70's and I am disgusted by what has happened. I remember Steiger's on High Street, Mountain Park, Mt. Tom, and several other great places.

  • The Hotel you were refering to as the Holyoke Hotel is incorrect it was the Hotel Jess, at the base of the foot bridge. The street Rivet Roofing was on is North Bridge St. not summer, the Polish Store you are refering to was Micky's.

  • You were driving down North Bridge Street. JD Rivet and your friend lived on North Bridge Street not North Summer

  • I lived in the flats all my childhood on Center st. I was bornin 61 moved out of the flats in 83

  • I lived in Holyoke from 1979 -1996. I lived on Mosher Street and North Summer Street. As a kid, I went to school with Paul Watts (Dale's kid brother).
