Here's a great set of ride section shots (with sound!) from Pat Connor that he sent me on tape a LONG time ago. Thanks again Pat for recording so many wonderful MK attractions!!!

  • Great video, thanks for the memories.

  • @gibbain To finish my comment, the A's were for the Jungle Cruise, Train, and Swan Boats (I don't remember the swan boats unfortunately)

  • @gibbain I'm a native born Floridian and was about 7 years old when WDW did away withe the A, B, C, D, and E ticket system but I unfortunately don't remember it. Most people don't understand when us longtime Central Floridians say "That was a real E Ticket ride". I then tell them you had to buy a book of tickets tgat had all four ticket groups there were lots of A's and very few E's. The E tickets were for Space Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, etc.

  • Thank you. I miss some of those old rides. --

  • It was mostly promotional for Eastern, but it was also kind of a humorous look at travel in the Carribbean. If you ever get to Epcot, the new Grand Fiesta Tour boat ride does a good job of capturing the feel of the ride.

One of the unique things about the ride from the park opening until 1982 was that it was the only attraction in the Magic Kingdom that did not require a ticket; it was free to ride. As a result, when I was a kid, I went on it a lot.

  • From Wikipedia: If You Had Wings (June 5, 1972 – June 1, 1987) was one of the original attractions at Walt Disney World. It was a two-person Omnimover dark ride in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom, sponsored by Eastern Air Lines. The ride featured travel destinations throughout the Caribbean and elsewhere, all of which were, in keeping with the ride's sponsorship, serviced by Eastern.

  • This is cool but I dont get it, What is the ride about ? Was this just a promo gig ride ? I live in La, Ca and have only been to Disneyland . Love the super 8 footage. I have some myself on my channel.

  • I miss this ride.
