This is my progress after taking 3 violin lessons. I think that my technique has improved and i'm not making as many problems with squeaking/scratchy sounding bow strokes and intonation. I think I may need to work on relaxing more when playing.

I was sight-reading the music while playing. This song is one of the songs that when I first listened to and just wanted to learn to play violin. So I never though I'd be playing it after only 3 lessons.

I had to transpose it down an octave on the key of D so I only needed to learn 3 new notes to play it on top of the notes in the D scale that I already know.

It is a difficult song for me because it uses all the strings, but since it's a slow song it gave me plenty of time to make the note changes. I did still manage to screw up at the end of the video though :(

Please comment on it and tell me if I'm doing anything wrong.
Thanks for watching.

  • I have to say for three lessons that's some really good progress. Just a few advises: work on your intonation because you're pretty much out of tune. Also your right arm is really stiff and you need to work on elbow arm coordination. Don't be intimidated. You're a really impressive beginner! Check out my violin videos if you can :D

  • @SymphonicRain99 Thanks for the advice! At the time I didn't notice I was out of tune, but i can hear it now. Intonation is still quite challenging for me and I'm now working on the elbow arm as well which my teacher also spotted.

Thanks for the encouragement. I subscribed to your channel.

  • I would say you are progressing well! but ofc you are asian so I wouldn't expect more! hehe btw your violin is hand made and if it is who is the master?

  • @Tr0jan1337 Thanks. You have high expectations for me.. I'd better not let you down :D

The violin is a Gliga I made in Romania. I think it's handmade but in a workshop of people according to the Gliga website.

  • @Tr0jan1337 Thanks. You have high expectations for me. I'd better not let you down :D
