Yeah the old AWD will always ultimately slow the car down, except in conditions where you would encounter poor or frequent loss of grip.

waste of tiem in a road car imo, unless you live in the mountains or soemthing.

this is old, but it was tried with AWD, the fwd was quicker round the nurburgring, and cheaper, i have driven one, it scared the shit out of me.
