PEMSEA sponsored a Youth Eco-Camp in Sibuyan, Romblon. The video documents the camp's activities and the experiences of the highschool students who participated in the camp.
The Eco-Camp was held in collaboration with Miriam college, Philippine Science High School, Globe Program and volunteer Services Overseas. The environmental youth camp or eco-camp is the first of its kind in the Philippines as it provides selected high school students actual exposure to coastal and marine environment in the relatively pristine setting of the Sibuyan Island. In line with its theme, "Developing Environmental Leaders of the Future," the eco-camp aims to heighten the participants' awareness, sensitivity and respect for the rick marine and coastal heritage of the region, and thus enhance their commitment and motivation to take active leadership roles in environmental preservation and sustainable development of the seas of East Asia.
