The metal piece behind the headstock is for holding allen keys that are used for the bridge and locking nut. It was very common during the 80's. you don't see them anymore.

japan made, nice necks just watch for warping,its about 88-89 made from the logo and bridge design

I`m not sure, but I think that on the back of the head is holder for hex-key (used to adjust floyd or maybe neck).Sorry for wicked English)

I remember those. Those were some of my favorite guitars back then. If you can find some of the old Guitar Magazines from the early '90s they had an advertisement in there with a hot redhead holding one that was WAY Hot!

i have a charvel 475 special, from the 90's,, that guitar looks a little the same,,must be bass wood body, rose wood finger board, made in japan

@XxSconeManxX It is an Allen Wrench holder. I had a Model 6 a while back. That script logo was along the lines of the Jackson logo. For a while they were Jackson/Charvel.
