Shaun White Rides Virtual Snow

Even in a sport known for colorful rebels, Shaun White is cut from a totally different mold. He's the rock star of snowboarding, and he was in top form at, of all places, the Tribecca Film Festival in New York City. Tribeca, in New York's extreme downtown, is the scene of one of the world's most innovative film festivals. They always do things big in the Big Apple and the family street fair that's part of the film fest is a prime example.More than ten square blocks of outdoor entertainment with a block devoted to sports in honor of sports films. At the end of theblock is the biggest exhibit of them all, Shaun White's Virtual Snowboarding competition. Kids of all ages lined up for a chance to compete against the Olympic champ. But before he could do any riding, White did his star turn with the media. White loves the celebrity role and plays it to the hilt.

Good point. Stars evoke strong emotions, we either love them or hate them. Some people react negatively to his show biz flare, buit to his credit it hasn't stopped him from achieving his goals - and then setting higher goals and achieving those too. You have to take your hat off to anyone who does that.
