Parasitic Oscillation?

I get this sound when I move my guitar too close to my amp head. It happens on both my JMP's when they are both dimed. Is this Parasitic Oscillation?

  • LOL, I just saw this video. I couldn't help but laugh, it sounded funny. On the serious side, hope you got it worked out.

  • @andrewpmast Was thinking of turning it into part of my regular sounds! No, I didn't get it sorted as I noticed it was happening to my other amp (same model, diff year) as well. I know my pickups are not microphonic (they are potted pickups from a PRS Custom) so can only assume that these old heads, with the input gain wacked up to full, produce this noise when the guitar is that close to the circuit.
