  • The worse change they made in Blender 2.5x, in my opinion, was change the default Spacebar key's default function to bringing up Search feature instead of the Add Object menu feature. That feature made Blender smokin' fast to use in modeling, but Shift-A just isn't as smooth or intuitive to use in speed modeling. I'm glad they did allow it to be returned through the Add-On feature, but still, I don't see why change it (and a few other features) at all. Anyways, thanks bitsofblender!

  • @SuperGamer87 I was surprised at that change too. I don't quite understand it. Maybe they'll change it back before the beta is done.

  • Wow really neat like you said! It would be nice if you create a new set of tutorials like the Cartoon Smart Blender Basics course, but then updated to Blender 2.5 when it is finally released. Thanks for sharing the tips!!

  • @cochesaurus I am working on a new set of tutorials similar in structure to the Blender Basics! It will feature a different character to build and version 2.5/2.6.

  • 2:27 "Go into faces mode". LOL!!

  • @0gnaws0 LOL! That's my favorite part of the video!

  • @bitsofblender Cool!! I'll be waiting for those tutorials :) I hope you can teach us the basics of Blender 2.6, just like you did with the first Blender Basics.

  • The future of Blender certainly looks to be exciting, thats for certain. thanks again.

  • @GPEART1 You're welcome :-) And no, it's not just you... Alpha software is not intended for production, it is still under development. (With the exception of Project Durian, whose production is intended to push development. ) It will go to Beta next, which means the feature set is frozen, but bugs are still being worked out. Once it is out of beta, I've no doubt the new generation Blender will be as stable as 2.49b.

  • So its not just me then!

I also wanted to say thanks for the Cartoon Smart Blender Basics series, it really gave me a "leg-up" on this great software.

I have been trying uv mapped textures(photographs), including a normal map generated in Gimp, in the blender game engine, it really looks great, but 2.5 was crashing, it was frustrating to say the least.

Thanks , more "nuggets of Nyquist"!

keep up the great Bits of Blender tutorials, i am always suprised at where they go to, always interesting.
