  • An interesting discussion with Tom Wicker, at the end of which they touch upon the incident where a Korean airliner was shot down by the Russians when it strayed over Soviet territory. Wicker didn't fully realize then that it was indeed on a spy mission, a horrible misjudgement by officials within our government who understood the paranoia previously exhibited by the Russians over such incursions. It was one of the most brutal incidents of the Cold War.
