UCF SGA: Budget Cuts

The University of Central Florida, along with many other universities, are facing hard times with the proposed budget cuts. Student Body President Elect Brian Peterson, and Student Body Vice President Elect Andrick Lewis address the student body and community members about the upcoming budget cuts.

I wish nothing good for that institution.

None of these budget cuts make any sense to me. I am a student of UCF and as a student I should be entitled to an overview of UCF's budget plan as well as a detailed assessment of the discretionary spending being done by employees of UCF.

UCF should not be facing any budget issues. More people are going to college because of the recession, which in turn equals higher than normal revenues. UCF is expanding is campus by building new infrastructure at Valencia West Campus.

I think it would be best not to say things like " The florida legislature has just passed a bill that cuts 500 million dollars..." when they are absolutely not true. A 500 million dollar cut was part of the fl house's plan, but it has not been passed. It is looking like the cuts are going to be much less severe. Pay attention.
