If you are able to convince your agent to lower his/her rate, doesn' t that mean that you are a better negotiator than your agent? I mean lets face it, if your agent can't even negotiate with you, the seller, to keep his OWN full commission, how in the world are you going to expect him to be able to get the best price for your house. If your agent agrees to lower his commission, you shouldn't list with him. Go with someone who is a better negotiator. It will save you thousands in the long run.
