So my Dad turned 50 this February, and I just couldn't decide how to celebrate.. well farmer Dan, you get a pig roast!!
I researched everything I needed to know, and started planning.
I think it turned out very well for the first Fleming family pig roast, and I cant wait to have more fun cooking videos for people to see!!
A special thanks to Arturo Comegna for the donation of the pig, and to Lemayniac Productions for the video, also thanks to everyone else that joined in the family fun!!

  • Hey! thank you :)

Yes, I let the pig rest for about a 1/2 and hour, but it was still releasing liquids as I was carving. I would maybe rest for 40, but people were starving and ready to try it!

As for the crackling, I read a few places that pouring cold water over the skin will remove any excess fats sitting on the skin and will help to make the crackling nice and crisp. I personally don't think the coals were hot enough to keep the heat after that, seeing as I was cooking outside in Feb! haha

  • Hi,congrats on the roast,it looks great.Got a couple of questions for you...did you let it rest for a bit? Also, with the addition of the liquid towards the end,did that hinder the crackling process at all?For me it's all about the crackling, mmmmmmmm. :)

  • wow. it looks greats and fun..
