At around 09:35 this morning (Saturday 13th June 2009), the Class 40 Preservation Society's 40145 (East Lancashire Railway) called briefly at Warrington Bank Quay, working the East Lancs Crusader charter from Rawtenstall to Aberystwyth.

The shots are of 40145's arrival, then ticking over during the brief passenger pickup, and finally making a hellfire exit towards Crewe, and then onward to Aberystwyth via Shrewsbury.

Thanks to Woolybak8 for the company this morning.

  • True. Got to be either Mk1 or Mk2 (non air conditioned) for me!

  • What would be batter would be if they weren't aircons.

  • Thank you kindly. Hope you had a hellfire day out!

  • Indeed. Thank you kindly mate!

  • Yeah, would be better if those Mk2's were in Blue and Grey, but I guess you can't win them all... Cheers!
