After looking at 2 videos and several diagrams, I finally figured out how to make these. You need 4 strips of paper that are 17 inches long and 1/2 and inch wide. This is part one. I did it in 2 parts because I wanted the entire project on here. I had so much trouble learning how to do this because the other sources seemed to skip steps, or I couldn't see the steps well enough. So, here it is, I hope someone is able to use it. If not for Christmas this year, maybe next year!!

  • I have been making these since I was a child. My mother used to make them out of ticker tape. I have found it easier to use 1/2 inch gift wrap ribbon instead of cutting the 1/2 inch paper strips. Not only are they always straight, the variety of colors and designs are superior!

  • It was a very helpful video, thank you :)

  • You make this look so easy. My mother-in-law gave me some of these stars that she said they had made during WWll when it wasn't so easy to buy ornaments.

  • I've been making these things since i was about 8 XD I start off by folding the strips in half first and then weaving the folds together and locking it- if anyone was looking for an alternate way to start. I've been trying to make one with quill paper, I keep getting so far but then ripping my paper or something stupid XD

  • my grandma taught me how to make this, and i love making them

  • nice!

  • Easiest star by the way nice video
