  • sounds great! i agree that the best would be to heat the can like in a real cotton candy machine. but i think it's hard - so good luck:)

  • the holes in mine is approx 0.75-1 mm, and that works good. i don´t think, you will need to take out the motor of a drilling machine just use the drilling machine and cover the "exposed" parts so it won´t be covered in sticky sugar. but it´s a good idea to use a drilling machine, because a fan does not have enough rpm´s to force the sugar through the holes, before it solidifies.

Before taking appart the drill I remembered that I have an old weed wacker that is obsolete (I can't get the coil for it anymore so we had to buy a new one). On the pluss side this means I have one mean motor for the next cotton candy machine :D

Will be doing this one outside just in case it's WAY TOO POWERFUL. And will be wearing protection ;P

Still trying to figure out the best way to heat the can though

  • thanks

  • Looking good.

Do you know if the hole size matters? I made one last night with an old fan and a mint tin. I got 1 glorious swirl of cotton candy before the sugar solidified and the motor seized up.

Going to do the next one with an old drill motor and I need to find a way to heat the tin. No idea how I'm going to do that. Would love to know if you find a solution without buying a blowtorch ;-P
