The US is getting the Golf TDI with the 140hp engine now, and it has a little better fuel milage than the Subaru.

Will North America ever see the Boxer Diesel Subaru? I certainly hope so. Think of the potential such an engine would have. Lots of torque at low rpm. A Forester would get approximately 30miles per gallon. As far as emissions go, where there's a will, there's a way. Whatever it takes, I hope the Boxer Diesel makes it here to the USA and to Canada, sooner rather than later. Why should Europe have all the fun?
