The Asmodians are not monsters, but the Shedim lords (just like the Seraphim lords) are. Deltras was slaughtered because Zikel demanded him to admit his lords were the bad guys. I think that the Empyrean lords aren't all that different from the Balaur anymore. They just want more power for themselves, and use the peoples they rule to get it.

If I remember the story correctly, the Asmodian forward guard was killed (by unknown) and then they ran into Elyos and kill them... So, they could have assumed Elyos killed their guys and wanted revenge. There is your reason. ^^

Here's how I basically read the Elyos lore:
"Okay, guys, so um, yeah, we've been fighting for a thousand years. This isn't getting us anywhere, so I decided to invite the murderous dragon race into our inner sanctum, with all of our defenses down, to discuss peace."
"What."
"Don't worry, it's cool!"
"Um, so they're destroying our world."
"Oh crap."
Seriously, their world gets RIPPED IN HALF, and they go, "lol look I got a tan!"
Yeah, no. I'll stick with Asmodians.

Asmodians are fools, only blaming elyos for what happened, and them both had the fault for what happened in the past, also Asmodians killed Elyos for no reason in their first encounter,
