Boston (Colon) (-110) @ Philadelphia (Hamels) (-110) (7:05PM ET) (ESPN)
Two of the better offenses meet when the Red Sox and Phillies open up an inter league series on Monday. Bartolo Colon entered the season with a minor league contract. After injury plagued 2006-2007 with the Angels Colon had to prove worthy of a Major League contract in 2008. Well in 5 starts the big right-hander sits with a 4-1 record and an ERA of 3.41. Colon is hit 94 MPH on the gun in his last start against the Orioles and it was a start with a season high 7 strikeouts. Two good starts for left-hander Corey Hamels after two bad starts where he gave up 13 runs in 9 2/3rd's innings. Hamels is coming off a 115 pitch effort against the Marlins where he suffered the loss. The Red Sox hit lefties as they sport a team batting average of .296. With Colon's two-seamer at high velocity and the good Sox hitting against Southpaws the play here is on Boston. Play Boston at --110.
Selection: Boston -110
