I've said it before & I'll say it again. We miss you, Speedvision.

@Edjard1 The McLaren M16 is one of my favorite Indy cars.

In Donohue's bio, "Unfair Advantage" he told that Revson was not well liked among other drivers. So, Bob Unser and Donohue did a mind game with Revson at the start, getting Revson out-of-sinc at the start which gave Donohue and Unser the jump on Revson at the green flag. That Sunoco #66 McLaren M16 car was a piece of beauty.

I love the passion of Tony Hulman, as he cranks with his own hand while giving the command to start engines! Thanks for posting this! Gotta love the history of IMS and of all those that made her what she is today.

I assume this interview with Mario Andretti took place after he was interviewed trackside with Chris Economaki, I mean, Dave Letterman.

I wish they still showed this stuff on SPEED...

Thanks...I figured as much. Good thing too as I believe AB- is the least common blood type.
Great video! In that interview with Mario, did he have his blood type (AB-) on his firesuit or was that signifying something else? Wouldn't surprise me with how dangerous it still was at the time.

Up until the late 70's it was common to indicate a driver's blood type on his firesuit and helmet. Indicates not only how dangerous it was (very) but the length of time typing and cross-matching blood took before today's modern lab equip.
