In tournaments, your goal is to pass from one line to the next. If their guys are down, they can 'catch' the ball, but if they're up then the opposing team gains control.
I don't get why they leave their men down when the ball is behind them... that's a disadvantage because you're blocking your own shots if you hit your own men in the front.... Always leave your guys up when you're on offense and the ball is downfield, and then always switch them to down position when the ball passes so they are on defense and block opponents shots.
I played back in the late 70's 1 goalie banked corners glass top ...that was the hieght of foosball....hurricane table red blue men..........

@Terran156 If you have a real football table there is a small lift in the corner so the ball cant stuck in there.
