Hey guys, in this montessori series I thought I would share how we have set up our kitchen to accommodate little children.

One thing I did forget to mention was that we also have a large step stool (that alternates between the bathroom and kitchen) that Lacey uses to help up at the benches. We also have a bigger learning tower type step my Dad made but we have no place to put it at the moment as it is quite bulky but is great because it would fit two children on there easily and safely.

Oh and I also forgot to show that I have 3 hooks next to the fridge with an apron for daddy, mummy and Lacey to use.

Any questions please ask or any advice would be appreciated.

  • How do you stop Flick from coming in and pulling out all the bowls and plates?

  • @queeenpammie I don't, she still does :) I just try and tell/teach her how to put them back (not that she does it yet) Thats why I don't have glass or ceramic down their at the moment. I am planning on getting the correlle dinnerware down there that looks like real stuff but doesn't brake.

  • that is a great idea!

  • Thanks :)

  • LOVE these ideas Grace!! Where did u get the mini drinking glasses??

  • @08jaydensmommy08 Thanks Jordan, I am always on the lookout for cheaper alternatives to montessori materials and I found all the glasses from op shops/charity shops for like 20cents each, than I'm not so worried if or when they brake too.

  • @cassieconnell Yes we 'had' a low drawer with the girls snacks in but I had to recently take it away, Lacey was not eating lunch or dinner because she was forever getting or asking for snacks :(
