@zodiolestes I love them, but I did a bit of research, they are illegal where I live. Apparently farming animals for their fur is fine, but loving and caring for them as pets? OMG animal cruelty!!

@Henrika16 I can get them for you; but you gotta get them by mid-May-AT THE LATEST! That is BEFORE their eyes open & still on the nipple-IF YOU WANT TO TAME THEM???

@zodiolestes I would LOVE to have a pair of huge mink like that :) Even if it means bite wounds, I think it would be worth it to have them as pets :) Someday... The only thing is I don't think mink that size would get a long with my ferret lol, even though he is on the larger side hes still just under 4 pounds, and he seems tiny enough to me.

Im am considering getting a pair of minks in a few years, I just wanted to know what they eat? Currently I feed Rolo Origen cat food, the orange one, and I thought for minks maybe the 6 fish one might work?
Also, Im considering converting my ferret nation to have access to a swimming tub or something, would that work as a set up? or too small? I'm just curious what kind of setup you have, thanks for any info :)

@zodiolestes Guess so; I just don't like how BIG Farm minks are! My boys grew to the size of raccoons!!! I Luved them; in between ALL THE BITE WOUNDS AND SLASHES Butt GOOD Grief?! You'd think you should get more loyalty and tenderness from a creature you rescued from becoming part of a Gorgeous Blue Mink coat???....

Where do you think i could buy a mink at in PA?
Makes me sad, though you can ask anyone I'm definitely animal obsessed, to the point where shopping for bigger cages and designing better enclosures fills me with glee, and honestly, that's what make me happy - I don't see any real reason to make exotic pets illegal, they should just be labeled as pets with special needs.

@Henrika16 yeah :( unfortunately too many people buy exotic (special needs, I like that) pets thinking it's going to act like the run of the mill cat or dog and then can't handle it. Usually when those films come out showing how bad fur farms are w/ footage of those sickly, fur falling off, blind in their eyes animals... those are products of ppl tossing their 'CUTE' little pet in a cage and giving bare min care. It's really sad because IMO mink are the best companion animals I ever had.

I can't get over how gracile and gentle female minks are... My boys were Big and fat and Aggressive... Either female mink make better pets? Or I didn't get my male mink early enough??

@zodiolestes I'm thinking you didn't get your boys early enough. Females from what I heard tend to be 100x more hyper. I had to work HARD with her to get her to mellow out and she's nowhere as near as calm, gentle and manageable as my first mink who was a boy straight from the wild. I got my boy when he was a few weeks old and before he was weened (fully furred though) and Gir I got the week she was weened and I couldn't handle her for a better part of a year. That help?
