March of the Magi

On July 27th 2009, approximately 200 players logged on Magus characters into Warhammer Online's Inevitable City, in response to the wild rollercoaster that Mythic have put the community on since the game launched. However, Mythic are no worse or better than any other MMO provider out there. What is needed is a message to all MMO providers about how they approach the life cycle of an online game.

At time of writing, the current patch 1.3.0b is a good example of how to get things very badly wrong but it is just the latest in a long line of inept patches that indicate Mythic aren't entirely sure what to do and are scrabbling around in the dark.

the blame lies squarely with Electronic Arts.

they are all that is bad about the gaming industry right now. they are only interested in the quick buck. just look at the amount of Dev time they give their studios to put a MMO. 3 years!!! its freaking insane. WoW had at least 5 years. EA is the devil.

I got tired of Mythic not addressing player issues (cheating, fixing bugs, etc) Also I got pissed on how they handled the Magus class. Blanket nerfs kinda Destroyed this already broken and weak career (compared to the Engie).

So I am very glad I unsubscribed. They can keep their broken game while I keep MY MONEY and spend it on something else. At the rate they are losing subscribers, they will have a broken game with not enough funding to keep it running. Ah well.
