PART 1 Christchurch Earthquake PEOPLE ARE DEAD EVERYWHERE

Moments immediatley after the huge 6.3 Magnitute Earthquake on February 22nd at 12:51pm that collapsed buildings right in front of me and footage of the roads torn apart and flooding. I raced home as fast as I could to find my family.

I still cant believe it actually happened, when I re-watch this clip I feel like its a home movie I made and it cant have been real...but sadly many people did die. Thanks for your nice comments :)

Im sorry to offend anyone with the title of the video. I posted the 1st video very shortly after the quake and was in a state of absolute shock. My intention is not to offend, but to be factual and tell the world how it is. Once you read the title you know that this is something huge, and not just another earthquake. Thankyou x

I've never felt an earthquake outside before, so were you actually driving your van when it happened?

Hi there, yes i was parked at the lights at a busy intersection at Eastgate mall when all the cars infront of me started bouncing like mental. I can only describe it as if i was on a super fast seesaw and everything in front of me was flying up and down from left to right and back again. i witnessed building collapse right in front of me, but I panicked and did a U-turn and speed home as fast as i could to locate my wife and 2 children. :)

Didn't actually say what? If you mean "People are dead everywhere" then um... sorry but he did. Its in the title of the video. If that's not what you are referring to then I'm not sure what you mean.

Its crazy, when you see this earthquake on the mercali index which measures actual intensity rather than energy released, you realise that it was very, very large (MM9)

Is it only me who finds the title of these videos insensitive - do we really need "PEOPLE ARE DEAD EVERYWHERE" surely there is a more sensitive way to put it?

Of course I am aware that is is factually accurate I just find it a very callous way of putting it.
