Chocolate Tasting

Earlier this month, the Office of Alumni Affairs hosted a chocolate tasting event for alumni and friends at the newly restored Bea Field Alumni House. Chocolates from Venezuela, St. Domingue, St. Thomas, Madacascar and Paouasie were provided by Ann and Dr. Rick Streiffer, owners of Blue Frog Chocolates of Magazine Street in uptown New Orleans. Dr. Streiffer, a Tulane alumnus and professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Tulane School of Medicine, gave participants an overview of the history of chocolate before the tasting began, and talked about the health benefits of the sweet treat.
