Worcester Warriors Aftermath

A rather hoarse fan tries to describe the feelings of elation after Worcester Warriors win over the Cornish Pirates gave Worcester a berth in the Aviva RFU Premiership in 2011-12.

A successful season, where they only lost 1 match, the Warriors have been the class of the field and thoroughly deserved promotion, even according to unbiased bystanders.

Nine months of blood, sweat, never tears, but a few punch-ups and yellow cards. 129 tries, 30 wins from 31 games. We're all happy.

It's gonna be great for Worcester next year, but I'm a little concerned that it's gonna be a bit of a shock for Worcesters defense, in the last half of the last leg of the final against the Pirates they broke clean through a few times.

But still, I'll be enjoying going down to Sixways and seeing some of the best teams on the planet again... :D

@Xboxthreesixtyful Yeah, that was worrying, but we're not resting on our laurels. We've brought in some good players and if we can carry on in the same vein, we won't be straight back down.

After all, Exeter finished 7th this term, didn't they?

@Coop83 Good point, also, this season or the next season the RFU are thinking of securing the premiership teams for 3 seasons, so nobody will go down or up, so that may help Worcester if it does go to pot next season.

Besides, with Andy Goode, the 3 points are almost guaranteed at most penalties, in the last season in the premiership I can think of countless games where Willy Walker lost us over 9 points, but now that won't be a problem. I'm confident the Worcester team to do well this season...
