May 14 marks the 62nd anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (Catastrophe) and the beginning of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian people. The repressive occupation continues today, enforced through policies reflective of the social, political, and economic segregation founded on race that was characteristic of apartheid South Africa. Apartheid in South Africa was dismantled after the international community began to BOYCOTT, DIVEST, and SANCTION the country. Taking from this legacy, it is time for a new movement for a generation of socially conscious people it is time to BOYCOTT, DIVEST, and SANCTION Israeli Apartheid and its ILLEGAL OCCUPATION of Palestine.

Amir Abdel Malik is an inspiring speaker and community activist who has dedicated his life to building the American Muslim community. He reverted to Islam while in college after being inspired by the struggles of Malcolm X, and strives to follow his legacy of speaking truth to power and community grassroots mobilization.

I see you come from Canada why don't you go on about your fruitcake Christian nutcase Prime Minister Harper! Get over your Islamophobia!

Keep saying over and over again the following:-

    I must not hate Muslims!

    I must not hate Muslims!

    I must not hate Muslims!

It is called Neuro Linguistic Programming and it is a process designed to embed in your brain your irrational fear of Muslims. Do it twice a day for 10 minutes!

Any normal country after 60 years of existence especially one that claims to be a "democracy" should have produced a constitution by now. The US State Department's annual report on Israel states that is a racist intolerant country that discriminates against women and minorities, for example 300,000 immigrants are not considered "Jewish" enough under rabbinical law and cannot marry or divorce in Israel or be buried in Jewish cemeteries.

  • @petersz98

Yes, a constitution would be a good thing. But as it is now (and Israel has room to improve) if I were gay, a woman, or a minority I would much rather live in Israel proper than any nation in the region.

I also think Hamas ending its call for the destruction of Israel would be a good thing.

What do you disagree with what Obama said in Cairo?

  • @JeffKlives

Israel's Declaration of Independence is not legally binding:- Israel's Supreme Court has ruled on this. Israel has no Constitution, something it desperately needs, because it is impossible to reconcile liberal democracy with the ideology of Zionism. Also the declaration of Independence does not grant equality to people of different ethnic groups(a deliberate omission). Israel has broken more UN rulings than any other country, should be thrown out of the UN.

  • @JeffKlives

Jews and Italians were created as a "people" in the 19th century as a result of the revolutions of 1848 and European nationalism and the break up of empires. Before that Italians didn't exist, Jews didn't exist as a people. All nationalities are artifical creations. The Zionist state refuses does not recognize Israeli nationality only "Jewish" nationality which no one can define. Is it a religion, nationality or ethnicity:- no one can define it.

  • Have you read Israel's Declaration of Independence?

"Israel : it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations."

Inside Israel proper things aren't too bad but more work needs to be done.

  • @petersz98

I agree that I'd like to see Israel continue to be a secular state. Their parlamentry govt stystem messes that up sometimes. But I see Jews as a people like Italians are a people. Other peoples can live and do live in Italy and the minorities have equal rights but its a Italian country.

  • @JeffKlives

For a start 20% of Pals are Christian like Egyptians are so why should it be a "Muslim" state? The USA long ago ceased to exist as a White or Christian state. Defining a state as "Muslim", "Jewish", "Aryan", "Roman Catholic", "Protestant", "Black" or "White" is racist and undemocratic. A state can only be democratic if it is secular, read the American Constitution, the Founding Fathers got it right!

  • @petersz98

Not sure what you mean by that. I agree the Pals have legitimate grievances and I support the creation of a Pals state based on 67 borders that will peacefully co-exist with the Jewish state of Israel as neighbor. Does that make me a Zionist in your eyes?

If there are 50+ Islamic states why is it wrong for there to be a Jewish state? I see Jews as a people like Italians are a people. Minorities in Israel should have rights too though const with Isl's declr of inpendence.

  • @JeffKlives

    Mu-Barak Obama is irrelevant!

  • @petersz98

If you agree with what Obama said in Cairo on the Israeli/Palestine conflict, does that make one a Zionist?
