great artist, but i can't get past the teeth..

I have been listening to his music for years and hear him talk also for the first time. I assumed he would be 100% Prussian and have a German academic accent, but he sounds like his background is from Eastern Europe.

A big surprise to listen to his voice for the first time. I imagined him with a powerful and low pitched voice. A bit disappointed, I must say. But still admiring his genius.

Stimo molto la figura di Richter, artisticamente e storicamente; d'altro canto non sono di certo un sostenitore della rappresentazione storica, almeno in musica. Tuttavia queste dichiarazioni dimostrano come egli fosse figlio della tradizione romantica e non avesse colto che Bach, concependo la Musica più come una "scienza" che come un'"arte", componeva le proprie opere su parametri assoluti e immutabili tra cui, ad esempio, gli andamenti agogici su cui si fondano i rapporti di durata.
