Some guy totaled my bio-diesel waste veggie oil project on the 1978 300D when it was parked, driving in some fit of rage. Almost had the entire kit installed, and this happened. Need to find another diesel project car. Maybe this time a small displacement VW TDI? Or a older model VW Diesel Rabbit. Which gets near 50+MPG. :=)

The only thing that makes me want to get another one of these 300D models by Mercedes Benz. Is the quality of the car itself. The one that was being used for the donor project was far from perfect, but still was a beast. From what people say the non-turbo 300D is bullet proof. Unless you run the thing low on oil, you can't kill these engines.

Will most likely keep an eye out for a reasonable deal on one of these cars again. They have the largest injection pumps in its class. People are even modifying the pumps with 7.5mm plungers from the IP(injection pump). Think they come standard with 5mm. Just shows they are worth investing if people are willing to upgrade them just with a simple pump by Myna for $900+. Stanley Meyers also said the diesel was the perfect candidate for water for fuel using his patent information. No spark? Still getting the reaction he spoke of? It doesn't need a spark, that simple. Plasma spark is not the only be all for water for fuel. Its actually the wrong direction. Because its not needed. Diesels just rely on high compression of 1300-1500+psi directly on top dead center to initiate the high pressure cycle that is needed in order to trigger the fuel with the heat.

Remember folks, they had a ban in the United States at one point for diesel engines to be produced in any automobile. This included VW(Volkswagen). Makes you wonder intent. These engines last the longest based on the fuel which is really a lubricant, getting injected directly above the cylinder head last second, upon a thermal or even endothermic reaction in the cylinder head. Small displacement engines of the TDI(Turbo Diesel Injection) models can get excess for 40-50+MPG depends on age of the vehicle. Older 1980's VW Rabbits get excess 50MPG. Scores higher than a Toyota Prius. This was over 20 years ago? Ha, its nuts. That is why hybrids are a scam. Get a older model small displacement diesel, add the necessary kits to boost mileage gains.

Hope all is well. Regards. --S--

  • Indeed... 123 series = built like a tank. They don't build them like they used to.

  • @librano yea hard to believe, but this is one of only 30 year old cars still on the road in my area. goes to show, quality over quantity.

  • Sorry to hear about your loss, what a shame...

  • @vlad4video everything is a learning experience.

  • hi the only problem i see is that water cannot be pressureised through the original injectioon pump.so a steam pressure washer pump (ceramic) may suffice then it would be based on a steam engine type.....you can get a plasma spark as well ....just point you to my andrija vid .and read all the gobble de gook on the more info .appreciate your view

  • @honda4004 hello, glad to see everyone is still on and "tuned" in. these engines are perfect candidates based on the use of the high pressure + high temperature. given that you couldn't run the fuels injecting with the same pump. that is the problem its missing some engineering. but otherwise the diesel injection method could come in play if use of a high pressure steam, or injection was required. haven't seen anyone try it. so who knows. hope all is well.

  • Too bad. Those are good engines. We had an 80's VW Rabbit diesel with a 4 speed manual, no overdrive. It would get 48-50-mpg on the highway. I don't think that hybrids are scams, as I have seen reports of aftermarket tuners tuning them t well over 100-mpg. As they are from the factory, they are very disappointing, though. Too bad. I like the Honda CRZ. Maybe some aftermarket tuning? Could you imagine the addition of overunity HHO production to a well tuned gas/diesel hybrid? I can.

  • ¥T

  • Leave mine under wraps for winter months but i dream of a bit of ol' rally..thanx,

  • COOL SOUNDS

  • This guy is busting in the snow! cool track.Great vid!

  • Yup old non turbo benz diesels never die. I have inherited my fathers 1980 300td. It did not come with a turbo like the newer models. He drove it off the lot new. He gave it to me when it had 550,000 miles on it. It now has over 650,000 miles. The only thing ever done is all new filters once a year. Other then that is just wares tires out and nothing more. I did have to replace the speakers, an battery, but she still runs like new. Starts right up even on the coldest mornings. Gets about 25 mpg.

  • i have a 300sd, its a great car

    i run wvo

no mods, just oil and em gas mixture, works great until it gets cold, will mix with 50% diesel when winter comes, more if needed

  • @honda4004 the water isn't supposed to be sent in through the injectors, it needs to come in through the intake. This gives it time to atomize. It also cools incoming air (much like an intercooler, cold air burns better) and increases the compression (water doesn't compress, so more space taken up increases compression)Which makes for easier starts, longer life (as it reduces carbon build up) and noticeable mpg gains. 3-4mpg. This was hooked up on a friends old rusty 300TD wagon.

  • Wow what a gorgeous drive in the snow. Great music for it as well. Must feel like losing a limb after all the work. Good luck finding another.

  • everytime I try to go to your channel it says " this channel not available" Whats up?
