Another great 90s movie with some curious themes. Seahaven is supposed to be the perfect society where you have: little crime, friendly people, litter-free streets, picturesque buildings, and great beaches. Because it's such a positive place, it's abnormal. Then what do we term "normal?" Just a thought, hence my name:)
Still, wouldn't you say the arguably good points Christof makes about Truman's world makes the ending at least a bit ambiguous? I agree that the comment was stupid - just looking for your opinion on the matter.
Yes, I think you make a good point about Christof's warning about the outside world. But that's the whole point of the movie...Truman is faced with the choice of remaining in his safe, scripted confines forever, or face the unpredictable, dangerous world outside. The end is certainly open-ended, but it is definitely made to feel that Truman has done the right thing by leaving.
My whacked out paranoid ramblings are no more whacked out than the underlying conspiracy theme of this movie :) I actually kinda enjoyed the flick and would go and see it again - especially the sequel. Give my regards to the people of Mead Haven. :) LOL........................... .
Eldusto84.I appreciate your eternal optimism. I represent the ones who keep your emotions in check. Hollywood has a sequel planned where it is learned Truman was an operative for the U.S. Government sent to investigate the Sea Haven corporation for many years. He had every US government agency at his disposal including all branches of the military. In the sequel justice is realized against the Sea Haven corporation and every one of it's participating actors/actresses. Will that help your feelings
LOL my emotions in check? What are you, the Thought Police??
Your paranoid ramblings indicate you have nothing better to do with your life than indulge in BS conspiracy theories. You can believe whatever you want, but I think you may be reading a BIT much into a film like the Truman Show. Take your wacked-out delusional comments to a more applicable video please :)
