scary scary stuff. thanks princeton (PS: please don't steal the election). Diebold's response to this was absolutely insufficient and probably even more frightening than the video itself: they basically put their head in the sand and say the thing works fine.

This analysis also assumes a card is already in the machine and has nothing recorded on it. I would assume they are intelligent enough to run a "password election" as soon as the memory card is inserted: A unique fake election that would remain on the card to verify the card has not been switched.
