Fucking trek nazis. Get a life.

@ThirdRAILKink Very well said. It was a traversty.

It would be interesting to see Section 31 reaction - oh how I hated them...
-
@DiamandaHagan With due respect, it's all a matter of perspective. For example, I think it's more than arguable that William Shatner made several very intentionally stupid mistakes that made Star Trek V... well, stupid. In fact the premise for TMP and V were very similar: They were both a God story... which is pretty stupid at it's core. Nobody sets out to make a stupid Star Trek movie, if you watch Star Trek '09 you see JJ and company actually do have reverence for Trek.
-
@garamonde id call more than a couple of the other ones accidentally stupid films.
-
@DiamandaHagan That's funny Diamanda, considering Star Trek V, Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis, and possibly even The Motion Picture. Nemesis and The Motion Picture are(IMHO) just dumb movies masquerading as intelligent ones.
Have you heard what people think is so intelligent about those films? "Well, I like the message about the duality of man in Picard and Data", when any perceived message is pretty half-assed. As for V'Ger... I got three words for you... "WHAT A TWIST!!"
-
@Lone432345 You know, Paramount probably said "After the failure that is Nemesis, we're not financing another Trek unless you can deliver an exciting, fast-paced film JJ." And so he delivered. What's wrong with that? First Contact was a pretty dumb action movie, so why are you so angry?
Still think Trek '09 sucks huh? Well, it's also the ONLY Trek to be in the IMDB's top 250, and I know that doesn't mean a lot, but it didn't get there by being a piece of shit.
-
@garamonde Yeah so lets take a bigger dump on a big pile of shit. Just to make it smell just that much worse.
-
Star Trek 11 was the first deliberatly stupid trek film.
-
@ThirdRAILKink Then I owe you an apology.
Previously Star Trek was, at it's best intelligent, humane, thoughtful, philosophical and relevant. At it's very best it was profound.
Star Trek XI is just Star Trek stripped of all that, made as sexy, fast-paced, action-packed and adolescent as possible. It's lost it's relevance, it's humanism and it's socio-political consciousness. It's all Hollywood now and no heart. J.J. Abrams made a movie that was respectful of the shallow things about Star Trek but eschewed all that was great.
