  • all i heard was the word fire.....>:)

  • I have seen your foot work. If you draw and strike at the downward 45 degree angle I saw in a couple of your last Gum Sool videos, no problem. Just do what you do best. Let the weapon be an extension of your body and its movement. I know you can do it, I have zero doubt.

  • I can not promise the best results. But I will try my best even if its a failure and post it.

  • That's how I did it the first time. I simply know you are capable and it would be good to show your detractors what you are fully capable of. There is also no proper demonstration video of such a cut on youtube. I know you can do it and it is good to show the students what a properly wielded blade is capable of. If you can cut a bundle as big around as your forearm, and leave the bottom half standing in the sand, you can clean cut a man in two.

  • I already did a hanging tameshirgiri but i got the idea. Will give it a try.

  • If you are interested in getting a tanto specifically built to take the punishment of throwing, but still be usable as a regular tanto, visit my page on here, and leave me a message. I have a new video showing my full product line. Have a great day!

  • I was actually thinking of the standing a 6' bundle in 8" of wet sand, however, tossing a bundle the size you were using up (horizontally) for an upward angled strike or (vertically) for an oblique strike, would be equally impressive indeed. One could go a step further, and hang the bamboo by one end or by both ends, depending on how you were attempting the cut, and cut in the direction of the least support (i.e. towards the string support points) so no target momentum is involved.

  • Tossing the bamboo bunble in the air and striking it?

I will post a video on it. I never tried tossing it before but just for curiosity, I want to try. Will post my humble efforts.

  • How about this, I get a bucket of sand, and i place the bundle of bamboo into 8 inches of wet sand, then perform the fire and stone vertical cut and see what happens. (?) 5 bamboo shafts representing the 5 rings(elements) good enough?

I have not done this in ages. Maybe even a decade. lol

  • Awesome throwing. I really need to get tanto.
